An official meeting with a delegation from the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) took place at the Institute of Seismology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the talks, the parties agreed to expand cooperation in the following strategically important areas:
✔️ Seismic hazard assessment;
✔️ Rapid method for diagnosing the seismic condition of water and hydropower structures;
✔️ Results of seismotectonic studies;
✔️ Seismic risk assessment;
✔️ Organisation of internships for young scientists and development of joint ‘Double Degree’ programmes.

During the visit, the guests were briefed on the latest scientific findings. Following the meeting, preliminary agreements were reached on the development of a ‘Roadmap’ for the coming year and joint participation in international grant competitions.
