During the meeting, the prospects for joint scientific research and further expansion of ties between the institutes were discussed. During the discussions, an agreement was reached to conduct scientific research on seismic hazard assessment by studying active faults and assessing the stress-strain state of the Tien Shan region.
The submitted project for the international scientific projects competition announced by the Agency for Innovative Development in cooperation with the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was also discussed, and hopes were expressed for joint scientific research on this topic by Russia, China, and Uzbekistan.
At the end of the meeting, a memorandum on further cooperation between the Institute of Seismology of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan and the Institute of Geology of the China Earthquake Administration was signed.
