During the meeting held on September 29 of this year, issues related to the timely implementation of the decrees and resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on ensuring seismic safety in the Republic of Uzbekistan were discussed by the G.O. Mavlonov Institute of Seismology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The discussions also covered the development of measures to protect the population and territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan from natural and man-made seismic hazards, preparation for the possible occurrence of strong earthquakes, mitigation of their harmful consequences, as well as the further enhancement of the prestige and effectiveness of scientific research related to the study of seismically hazardous processes and seismic safety issues.
At the end of the meeting, a joint memorandum was signed on strengthening scientific cooperation between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the G.O. Mavlonov Institute of Seismology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
