MAIN SCIENTIFIC DIRECTIONS OF THE LABORATORY
Comprehensive analysis of the results of complex seismological and seismic forecasting monitoring conducted in the Republic of Uzbekistan; Study and implementation of advanced technologies for the comprehensive analysis of the results of seismological and seismological monitoring; Development and improvement of existing methods for identifying precursor changes in the parameters of observed geological and geophysical fields associated with earthquakes.
TASKS OF THE LABORATORY
Performing complex analysis of seismic and seismopredictive monitoring data carried out by the Republican Center for Seismopredictive Monitoring of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and relevant laboratories; Identifying anomalies as earthquake precursors using modern mathematical tools and assessing their reliability; Analyzing anomalous variations by comparing them with existing models of earthquake preparation and occurrence; Monitoring the dynamics of precursory anomalies and probabilistically assessing the likelihood of earthquakes; Participating in the evaluation of the seismic situation in the republic and its regions on an annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly basis; Preparing analytical materials for the meetings of the "Interagency Expert Commission on Seismic Situation Assessment and Short-Term Earthquake Forecasting," composed of specialists from the Institute of Seismology and the Republican Center for Seismopredictive Monitoring under the Ministry of Emergency Situations; Generalizing the results of seismic observations carried out by laboratories of the Seismology Institute and the Republican Center for Seismopredictive Monitoring, standardizing them into a unified system, and compiling a unified catalog of earthquakes that occurred in the republic and adjacent territories.
MAIN SCIENTIFIC RESULTS ACHIEVED IN RECENT YEARS
A methodological guide for conducting hydrogeoseismological observations was developed and implemented in practice at the Republican Center for Seismopredictive Monitoring under the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Algorithms and software for analyzing seismological and seismopredictive monitoring results using statistical and expert methods were developed. The SPM Visualizer +P software was developed to automatically determine the distance of earthquake impact using the T. Rautian method, and to analyze seismological and seismopredictive monitoring data through statistical and expert methods. In accordance with clause 12.3 of Presidential Decree No. PFQ-144 of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 30, 2022, six boreholes were selected and provided to the Republican Center for Seismopredictive Monitoring under the Ministry of Emergency Situations for conducting hydrogeoseismological observations.
