Requirements for articles published in a scientific journal
"Problems of seismology"
I. General rules
The scientific journal “Problems of seismology” publishes theoretical, practical and methodological articles in Uzbek, Russian and English languages, dedicated to the problems of seismologists, seismic zoning, estimating seismic hazard and risk, prognosis of earthquakes, engineering seismology, technogenic seismicity and their practical application in the country and their practical application in the world. Brief theses, information about major scientific events and books reviews are also accepted for the publication. The materials presented for the publication must meet the official requirements of the magazine, go through an examination and get a recommendation for publication at a meeting of the Editorial Council of the journal. The decision on the publication is made taking into account the scientific significance and relevance of the presented materials. Articles rejected by the Editors are not accepted and not returned to publication.
The text of the article consists of a title, information about the author (authors) and the main part, gratitude and links, the main part should include the following sections: abstract and keywords (in Uzbek, Russian and English languages), introduction, object and subject of research, primary data and research methods, main results, discussion, conclusions.
The text of the article is accompanied by an expert opinion (signed by the head and certified by the stamp of the organization).
II. Recommendations for the design of the text of the article
Title: On the first page of the article, the universal decimal classification index of UDC should be indicated (in the upper left corner of the article title). In information search systems, clear and brief headlines are often used. Therefore, as far as possible, it is not recommended to use abbreviations and formulas in the heading of the article.
FULL NAME the author (s) and the name of the organization (i), in which (s) it (c) works (th): complete information about all the authors who participated in the preparation of the article is given. The surname, first name and patronymic of the author (s) are written in capital letters. On the full name of each author, a digital link is placed indicating the place of work of the author. The following lines, according to the digital link, indicate the names of organizations or institutions, their full mailing address where the authors work. A stars puts an adversarial link indicating the author’s email address, which takes responsibility for the publication process and correspondence in the subsequent period.
Annotation: The purpose of the study and the (s) method (s), the main results and conclusions should be briefly described. It is not recommended to use links that are non -standard or rarely used abbreviations, since the annotation of the article often seems separate from its main text.
Key words: from 5 to 10 keywords directly related to the topic of the article. It is not recommended to use general, ambiguous terms and concepts.
Introduction: information is provided enough to reveal the essence of the study. The importance, purpose and method (s) of research, links to the necessary sources, especially works published in recent years, and brief comments.
The object and subject of the study, the initial data and research methods: the natural conditions of the area study or experiment are given, information about the materials and methods used, and the main results of the study are presented. There are enough details to justify the work. Previously published methods should be indicated by the link.
The main results: the results of observations and experiment are presented, when comparing the results, their essence is not clarified. The results should be clear and brief.
Discussion: The significance of the results obtained as part of the study (II) are explained without duplication of the text presented in the previous section. It is indicated that each hypothesis/assumption was confirmed or not confirmed without a reliable conclusion. Proposals are submitted regarding the future direction of research or improving studies.
Conclusions: The main conclusions of the study are presented in a separate section or in the discussion section.
Acknowledgments: in cases when this is appropriate, this section includes information about the grant within the framework, of which the study was conducted, the organizations that funded the study, and/or the recognition of individuals who assisted in the conduct of the study or in the preparation of the article.
References: a list of sources used in the preparation of the article is given. Attention is drawn to the fact that the literature for each link presented in the text was contained in the list.
III. Technical requirements for the text of the article
The text of the article should be placed in a standard sheet of A4 paper with an interval of 1.5 lines. Each page should have fields: the upper and lower - 2 cm, the left - 3 cm, right - 1.5 cm, the paragraph should be uniform - 1.27 cm.
When printing text on the computer, it is recommended to use the Microsoft Word text editor, the direct font “Times New Roman” font is 14-point.
The total volume of the article (together with the bibliography, tables and drawings) should not exceed 16 pages. Articles exceeding the specified size can be published in accordance with the editorial conclusion. The computational expressions presented in the text are numbered in a continuous sequence in accordance with a full article. In the text, only expressions with reference are numbered. The numbers are recorded in brackets on the right side of the line in which the expression is given (1, 2, etc.).
The list of literature first includes sources in Uzbek (in Cyrillic) and Russian, and then in English (or in Uzbek in Latin). Bibliographic information of sources is formed in accordance with the accepted standard, first, in alphabetical order, and then in chronological. In the text of the article, in the links to literature in square brackets, the author and year of publication are indicated. Groups of sources should be listed first in chronological order, and then in alphabetical [Ivanov, 2007; Petrov et al., 2008; Geography ..., 2010].
After the list of literature, annotations are placed in Russian (or Uzbek) and English and keywords. Then an English translation of literature in the Uzbek and Russian languages, listed in the bibliography. Translated in English, only the title of the article is translated, the rest of the information in the literature is written on the Latin graphics.
IV. Instructions for the design of tables, drawings and graphs
Tables should be placed in a standard sheet of A4 paper, filled with 1.5 lines, it is recommended to use the Microsoft Word text editor, the direct font “Times New Roman” font is 12-point. The tables should be numbered with Arabic numbers, the title of the table is written after its number. All columns in the tables should have headers and are separated by vertical lines.
In the images, unnecessary details and inscriptions should be avoided (it is recommended to replace the inscriptions in numbers or letters, comments to which are given in the title of the picture or in the text). The lines on the graphs should be clear (5-6 pixels). When designing schedules and numbers should be written in the font “Times New Roman” 9-10 KEGL. The width of the drawings should not exceed 180 mm, the height is 240 mm. The title for the drawings should be presented with the font “Times New Roman” font is 12-point with an interval of 1.5 strings.
It is envisaged in the near future that the journal will be included in the list of authoritative journals indexed in international databases such as the RSCI (Russian Science Citation Index) and Scopus. Therefore, the titles of tables, schemes, drawings and graphs in articles in Uzbek should be written in Russian and English (in articles in Russian - in English).

VI. Plagiarism Checker
The scientific journal " Problems of seismology " checks the originality of the content of the submitted manuscript before publication. By submitting a manuscript to this journal, the authors agree that their manuscript may be checked for plagiarism.
VII. The procedure for taking articles
1. All materials are accepted by e -mail.
2. Communication with the authors is carried out by e -mail.
3. Scientific articles presented for publication in the journal are transferred by the editor of the journal experts for reviewing.
4. Scientific articles that have received positive reviews will be published in the new issue of the scientific journal.
5. Scientific articles with serious shortcomings are returned to their authors to finalize on the basis of expert comments and re -register for publication after eliminating the shortcomings.
6. Scientific articles that do not correspond to the scientific direction of the magazine are not published and are not returned to the author.
